The New York Film Festival has announced that the 4K restoration of the Hong Kong film Just Like Weather (1986) will be presented in the ‘Revivals’ section of the 64th New York Film Festival.
The restoration, completed by M+ in 2026, utilised the original 16mm negative, 35mm reversal intermediate and 35mm optical sound negative preserved by the Hong Kong Film Archive, and was commissioned to L’Immagine Ritrovata in Italy. The same section also features Hou Hsiao-hsien’s Goodbye South, Goodbye (1996) and Barbara Hamma’s Nitrate Kisses (1992), amongst others. Click here for details.
